Reverend Byron Charles Stevenson

Reverend Byron C. Stevenson was born in Baton Rouge , Louisiana on January 23, 1969. He is a 1990 graduate of Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Prior to working in the ministry full time, Pastor Stevenson has held positions in Corporate Accounting and Internal Audit.

Pastor Stevenson has attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In February 2006, Pastor Stevenson will graduate from Houston Baptist University with a Master's of Arts in Theological Studies. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. He is also a life member of the Southern University Alumni Association. Pastor Stevenson's travels have taken him to various parts of the world including Cairo , Egypt , Rome , Italy , Jerusalem , Amman , Jordan and Bethlehem .

He received his call into ministry in May 1994. Pastor Stevenson began his full time ministry in January 1996, serving as the Minister of Christian Development at Brentwood Baptist Church . As his duties increased, he eventually became the Minister of Program Development.

Pastor Stevenson is the Pastor/Founder of The Fort Bend Church. The Fort Bend Church is a vision that God had tucked away in Pastor's Stevenson's heart to be released at "the appointed time". The appointed time proved to be the year 2004. After 10 years in ministry, Pastor Stevenson answered God's call to step out on faith and start a new ministry.

The Fort Bend Church opened its doors for the first worship service at the Sugar Land Middle School in Sugar Land , Texas on August 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Over 600 individuals were in attendance. Since, that time over 1200 members have become a part of this phenomenal ministry.

Pastor Stevenson founded The Fort Bend Church on five pillars: trust, faith, kindness, compassion and liberal giving. It is because of the liberal spirits of the members of The Fort Bend Church that Pastor Stevenson led The Fort Bend Church successfully in purchasing 6.38 acres of land in Sugar Land , Texas after being in existence only 9 months.

As God continues to give Pastor Stevenson the unique vision for The Fort Bend Church, new ministries are being born on a monthly basis. The church's motto is, "Serving the total needs of God's people." Based on that motto, The Fort Bend Church currently has over 30 effective ministries for men, women and children.

Pastor Stevenson has been appointed to the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas . He also serves on the Committee on Committees. Pastor Stevenson is also on the City of Sugar Land Mayor 's Council.

Pastor Stevenson is married to his high school sweetheart, Sonya Taylor Stevenson. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Claire Alexandra and Cydney Victoria.
